Tom Banton’s six-hitting wins T20 for England after Dawson derails Sri Lanka

Tom Banton's powerful hitting secures T20 victory for England after Dawson dismantles Sri Lanka

• Banton and Brook guide England to a stylish win
• Aggressive batting exposes Sri Lanka's struggles

England stretched their remarkable winning streak against Sri Lanka to 14 matches, as the visitors appeared just as overwhelmed as the balls repeatedly being launched into the River Taff while their opponents cruised to yet another familiar and satisfying triumph.

More than twelve years have passed since Sri Lanka, crowned world champions in the format just a month earlier, defeated England by nine runs at the Oval. They have lost every subsequent meeting, and with this match also resulting in another series loss, while several aspects differed from Tuesday's first clash in Southampton—starting with England winning the toss and choosing to chase—the outcome remained unchanged. This decisive home victory was ultimately sealed in a somewhat chaotic fashion: no-ball, wide, single, wide, single, muted celebration. Ryan van Niekerk, Sri Lanka's bowling coach, estimated a par score on this pitch at 200; England's target was just 146, and they reached it with 47 balls remaining to win by six wickets. As the action unfolded, fans following via 南宫娱乐 could enjoy the thrilling chase.
